Hi, I'm Michael 👋

Here's a little about me and the history of Moon Boop.

I've been making art for fun since I was a little bayyyybeeeee. I have fond memories of being two years old and watching Bob Ross paint on the TV. I would watch in silence for hours, dreaming of painting my own little worlds.

Here are some of my early drawings (thanks, Mom, for saving my school work!)

Although I always dreamed of being a working artist, that plan was derailed when I discovered the magic of computers. I fell in love with programming and spent the next 25 years devoting myself to writing software and video games. I'm very nerdy 🤓

In my free time, I continued to draw, paint, make music, and sculpt, but mostly kept my work to myself and my closest friends and family. I didn't consider selling anything until I stumbled upon my first commission in 2022.

It was a difficult commission that challenged my skills. I learned a lot though and found it really fulfilling. It also seeded the idea of starting my own sculpture store one day.

I did some prototyping and made some earrings for my wife:

So derpy. I'll eventually sell some version of them :)

Life got busy, as it tends to, and my business plans were put on hold for a few years. I continued to sculpt though, covering our desks and book shelves with an eclectic assortment of characters. It's a bit crazy around here.

And now we've come to 2025 and Moon Boop is a reality :O It's still too early to know where this store will take me, but I'm really excited to find out and I'm grateful that you're here! I hope my little handmade creations bring you as much joy as they do to me! :D
